Meet the Mama Behind Cart Girl Coffee

Tell us a little about yourself and your family.
I am a mama of a 8-month-old baby girl, my husband and I purchased our first home in Modesto and have been in the area for a year now. Coming from a small town to a city was a change but I have met many amazing people through my small business.

What inspired you to start your business, and what makes it unique?
I started my business in April of 2024 looking for a fun hobby and living my barista dream lol, a few weeks after my husband and I found out we were expecting. I pushed through as much as possible but had to pause, once I had my baby girl I returned extra motivated to continue my business. I love making yummy drinks and meeting new people that enjoy coffee. I make each cup with love and happiness, making coffee takes me away from my real job and I live my barista dream.

What products or services are you most proud of offering?
I am most proud of my Spanish latte, a drink I have mastered and all time favorite. I grew up loving sweet condensed milk, a staple in my household!

How has your business evolved since you started?
I have grown so much since I came back from maternity leave, gaining almost 200 followers in a single month blew my mind. I look forward to every event to serve coffee and put smiles on my customers face! I just got my new espresso machine in and can’t wait to make amazing coffee in this super cool machine.

What’s a typical day like balancing running your business and motherhood?
I am a very busy mama, I work full time as an engineer so coffee is usually only on the weekends. I take my baby girl to every event if I can. While she hangs out with her dad I make coffee and any free second I have I give her all my love and kisses! My husband is my #1 fan so thanks to him running my small business isn’t as stressful.

What has been the most rewarding part of your entrepreneurial journey?
The most rewarding part is the moment someone takes the first sip!

What challenges have you faced in growing your business, and how have you overcome them?
I was scared to start and at times scared to continue, life gets very busy at times. I try my best to get out there reach out to businesses, market my name, and seeing my business grow keeps me motivated to continue.

How do you reach and connect with your customers or community?
Instagram and the power of social media is amazing! Making videos and creating various content always attracts customers.

What advice would you give to other moms considering starting their own business?
A crazy idea can lead to something amazing. Just go for it, if it fails…well at least we tried and we can continue to the next challenge.

How do you and your family like to spend time together when you’re not working?
With our free time my husband and I love to just stay home and do nothing. Before having our daughter we would always go out and find something fun to do but now we love to take in every second with our daughter. During the week we are both very busy so time at home is always time for us to relax and enjoy each other's company.
