We’re teaming up with Opera Modesto to give two lucky groups of four the chance to experience one of opera’s most beloved comedies: The Barber of Seville! 🎭
Coming to the Gallo Center for the Arts this September, The Barber of Seville is packed with romance, comedy, disguises, memorable music, and plenty of delightful chaos.
🎶 A Night of Opera, Comedy & Romance
Bribery, Bel Canto, Disguise, Comedy and Love! The Barber of Seville follows two young lovers and their quest to be together. With unforgettable arias, breathtaking bel canto music, romance, hijinks, and humor, it’s easy to see why this sparkling comedy has remained a favorite with audiences for generations.
While this production is especially great for adults and teens, families with older kids may enjoy it too. The performance isn’t specifically geared toward little ones, but there’s nothing inappropriate or overly scary about the story.
🇮🇹 Never Been to an Opera?
Don’t let the Italian language intimidate you!
The Barber of Seville will be sung in Italian with English supertitles. If you’ve never experienced an opera with supertitles, think of them like subtitles at a movie. English translations are projected on a screen above the stage, so you can follow along with the story while enjoying the original Italian singing.
It’s a fun way to experience live opera—even if you’re completely new to it!
